Łukasz Zagała was born in 1972 in Zabrze. He graduated from the Faculty of Architecture at the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice. After graduation he worked in the office of P.P. Pabel Architekten in Berlin, Germany and in the studio Odile Decq / Benoit Cornette in Paris, France.

Since 1997, together with Przemo Łukasik, he has been running his own architectural studio, Medusa Group, which has won numerous awards, including five European Property Awards and five nominations for the Mies van der Rohe Award. For 10 years he lectured at the Faculty of Architecture of the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice. In 2005, he defended his doctoral thesis entitled “Adaptation of post-industrial buildings to new functions as an important trend in contemporary architecture”.

Privately, he is strongly involved in sport – he practices alpine skiing and road cycling, is interested in classical and jazz music, and plays the piano himself.
